Lord & Taylor embraces food trucks

Stamford, Connecticut, on Monday banned food trucks on Spring Street, where some trucks had set up shop after being forced off of Bedford Street last year, according to the Westport News.

Meanwhile, Lord & Taylor on High Ridge Road recently opened its parking lot to food trucks in a move to attract some lunchtime traffic. The "outdoor food hall" will host several food trucks serving year round. The company could expand the concept to other Lord & Taylor stores, the report said.

The city's food truck committee chose not to create any new food truck zones, but plans to tour other areas, such as Latham Park, in the coming weeks.
