Macy's CEO Jeff Gennette will leave his role in February, 2024 after a 40-plus year career with the retailer.

Tony Spring, the current CEO of the brand's department store Bloomingdale's, will take his place, according to a CNBC report.

Gennette, who became CEO six years ago, kept Macy's above rough times during the COVID-19 pandemic and spearheaded a turnaround.

Macy's has also announced that current Macy's CFO Adrian Mitchell will be given an expanded role and become COO as well.
