Marshall Electronics to launch retail-integrated e-commerce

July 17, 2011

Marshall Electronics, developer, manufacturer and distributor of professional audio/visual equipment, has signed an agreement with retail-integrated e-commerce provider Shopatron, to add online shopping capabilities to its website, according to a news release from Shopatron.

Using the Shopatron system, Marshall Electronics will sell products online and then pass those sales to their retailers for delivery to consumers. Online shoppers will have the choice of home delivery or in-store pick-up. The arrangement allows customers to combine the ease of online shopping with the service and personal touch of a local retailer.

The online store will target Marshall Electronics' "prosumer" audience — customers who want professional-quality equipment for personal or small business applications. The new e-commerce platform will also sell industrial and OEM parts for customers in the professional audio/visual and security industries.

Marshall Electronics joins a Shopatron client list that includes Louisville Slugger, Suzuki, Polaroid, Mizuno and Ducati. "When deciding how to best distribute our new consumer-targeted products, Shopatron was the logical solution," said Perry Goldstein, Marshall Electronics sales and marketing manager, in the release. "With Shopatron's solution we give consumers the convenience of online shopping, while still including our valued retail partners in the sale."
