The city of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, is installing solar-powered parking kiosks featuring electronic screens and a keypad where drivers will type in their license plate number to pay. The kiosks will accept credit cards but not coins. A mobile payment app will also be introduced, according to a Bridgewater Independent report.
The paid parking program is scheduled to begin in mid-January. Representatives will be available for the first few days to assist people with the kiosks. Free parking will still be available in some parts of town.
