Meijer’s President Rick Keyes now has a new title for his business card: CEO.
Hank Meijer, who held the CEO title, is moving into the role of executive chairman of the board, according to a press release. Meijer Inc, a family-owned chain of 230 supercenters and grocery stores, operates 230 stores through Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Ohio, stated the release.
The 47-year-old Keyes, 47, began his career with Meijer as a store pharmacist in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to being promoted to president last year, he had served as executive vice president of supply chain and manufacturing since 2006.
"We have witnessed Rick's deep understanding and appreciation of our culture and his passion for the people who make Meijer a great company," said Hank Meijer in the release.
"His accomplishments throughout a 27-year career--and his leadership as president for more than a year now--give us tremendous confidence in the future as he assumes a new title that better reflects his responsibilities."
