Mobile proved dominant in Black Friday shopping, reveals report

Thanksgiving/Black Friday – Cyber Weekend holiday shopping produced increased retail revenue on the weekend days, delivering 32 percent growth compared to 24 percent growth in 2016, according to Salesforce holiday activity data.

 

And despite reports that Cyber Monday would eclipse Black Friday, Salesforce data reveals Black Friday still rules as the biggest shopping day of the holiday shopping weekend.

 

Mobile shopping was strong, with 64 percent of shopping visits happening through mobile over the weekend, a healthy spike from 54 percent last year, according to a  press release. The data also shows 43 percent of orders were place through mobile, up from 33 percent last year, and computers captured 46 percent of orders — which was under 50 percent for the first time ever on the annual cyber shopping weekend. Shoppers placed 52 percent more orders on phones, according to a blog post.
