National Gift Card launches eCard API

National Gift Card Corp. announced today that it has launched its first proprietary application programming interface to provide customers with electronic gift cards in real time.

According to the company, the new gift card API allows B2B program buyers and clients in the loyalty, rewards, incentive, benefit and membership industries to quickly integrate with NGC's gift card catalog and send "e-codes" in real time to program participants.

The company says its new API offers organizations a new degree of operational ease for rewards program administrators. "We manage all of the real-time operational aspects of connecting with the retailers' processors, activating the e-codes, and even helping to deliver the final e-codes via a branded program email to reward recipients," said Joan Travelstead, SVP of program development.

NGC's gift card API augments its traditional plastic gift card fulfillment solutions that currently serve more than 2,000 B2B client accounts in the U.S. and Canada. The company said its gift card API will offer more than 200 retailers.
