ATLANTA — FUJITSU ADVANCED SOLUTIONS LIMITED (FASOL) announced the release of a new solution that will streamline operations for retailers that carry gift cards and enable those retailers to market from free-standing gift card malls. The YAGOYASAN solution allows retailers to integrate their technology with InComm, the largest provider of stored-value gift and prepaid products in the United States and a service network of 145,000 retail and sales locations worldwide.
Prepaid gift cards in Japan carry preloaded values representing a significant risk to the retailer in the event of theft. Where cards are value-bearing, retail locations are required to perform time-consuming inventory control and sales procedures. In the United States, prepaid cards carry no value until point-of-sale (POS) activation upon the sale at the cash register.
By installing YAGOYASAN and setting the parameters in existing POS systems, retailers become linked to an easy-to-use, low-cost, POS activation technology without the requirement of specialized knowledge of the ISO8583 standard which is required to develop a system connecting to InComm's advanced point-of-sale technology.
"YAGOYASAN is an effective tool helping retailers integrate with InComm's technology platform. By installing YAGOYASAN, retailers can access a network of hundreds of service providers," said Brian Parlotto, senior vice president of products. "A key success factor in international markets, especially in Japan, is how flexible we can be to support our retail partners. It is equally as important to have strategic alliances with strong partners in Japan which is why we are very excited to have this product release by FASOL."
