New York & Co. parent files for bankruptcy

RTW Retailwinds Inc., parent company of New York & Co., is reportedly considering shuttering all its stores as part of a bankruptcy action initiated this week.

It's already begun liquidating at some locations, according to a Bloomberg report posted at Yahoo Finance.

The women's apparel retailer was initially launched as Lerner Shops, more than a 100 years ago, but changed to New York & Co. about two decades ago, according to the report.
