According to a Business Wire story on MarketWatch.com, Nike continues to make retailing inroads into the youth-oriented action sport and culture market with the opening of its third Salvation concept store. The new Malibu, Calif. location joins stores opened in 2009 in Laguna Beach and Irvine.
The 4,000-square-foot location offers market-tailored product lines from youth culture brands Nike, Hurley and Converse, merchandised and marketed for "a premium shopping experience." The retail environment features a fresh attitude and innovative consumer experiences, including "The Workshop," an on-site customization station that lets shoppers create custom footwear, apparel and accessories that speak to their own unique sense of style.
Salvation Malibu will also participate in the Nike community partnership with Stoked Mentoring. Stoked seeks to help young people make the world a better place by promoting access for kids to action sports opportunities.
