April 14, 2013

To promote a sneaker with the model name Free, Nike has launched a holographic outdoor advertising campaign in Amsterdam.

According to a blog post from PSFK Labs, Nike collaborated on the project with media agencies Mindshare, Kinetic and JCDecaux to create the first holographic 3-D advertising campaign.

According to PSFK, the ad consists of a holocube that shows a hologram of the Nike Free moving and bending forward and back to simulate its flexibility, which Nike is emphasizing as the model’s key feature. The transparent cubes, which allow viewing the display from all sides, are are located in the Leidseplein, Rembrandtplein and Damrak areas of Amsterdam.
