Nordstrom dials down on holiday seasonal hiring

Department retailer Nordstrom will be hiring 3 percent less seasonal employees for the holiday season.

This year's temporary employee hiring will hit about 11,400, according to a Reuters report, with 9,500 taking sales and stock roles and the rest being hired for retail store support and ecommerce positions.

The reduced hiring may reflect a trend, notes Reuters, as Macy's is also dialing down on season help.
