Nordstrom expands gift pickup options

Nordstrom is expanding gift pickup options this holiday season way beyond store hours.

In fact between Dec. 16 and 24 shoppers can get curbside pickup service at 23 stores any time of the day or night for picking up online purchases, according to a USA Today report.

The retailer offers "early bird" pickup from now through Christmas Eve starting at 8 a.m. though stores are not open at that hour. Staffers are working and will bring items to the curb.

The delivery expansion reflects the competitive retail landscape given Amazon’s extensive delivery options and the fact consumers have much higher expectations when it comes to checkout and product delivery.

The retailer is also providing "gift scouts," to help consumers in 65 stores who have made an appointment to shop at the location, according to the report.
