Norwegian grocer debuts payment terminal fleet

April 11, 2024

Rema 1000, a subsidiary of the Reitan Group, is deploying a fleet of PAX Android A35 payment terminals that will allow the Norwegian grocer chain to accept multiple payment methods.

The terminals are from Market Pay, according to a press release. REMA 1000 holds a 24% market share in the country's grocery marketplace.

About 700 sores will be equipped with the new system in the next few months, and the complete project will involve 2,000 terminals.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Market Pay to introduce unified payment solutions across our stores. This collaboration aligns with our commitment to providing convenient and seamless shopping experiences for our customers," Erik Marcus Torkildsen, head of payments at REMA 1000, said in the release.

Market Pay is a pan-European payment platform offering omnichannel digital solutions.
