NRF's RAMA and Shop.org announce Retail Innovation and Marketing Conference

August 30, 2009

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NRF today announced the creation of the Retail Innovation and Marketing Conference. The inaugural event, March 2-4, 2010 in San Francisco, will provide educational opportunities in areas such as cross-channel strategies, new approaches to marketing, social media, and branding.

The Retail Innovation and Marketing Conference will be powered by the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association, NRF's division for marketing professionals, and Shop.org, NRF's digital division. The conference will combine the strengths of RAMA's Retail Advertising Conference and Shop.org's Strategy & Innovation Forum into one event for industry professionals in the digital, marketing and technology disciplines.

"By launching this event, NRF takes a leadership role in bringing eCommerce, marketing and technology retail executives together — critical retail disciplines that too frequently operate in silos," said Shop.org executive director Scott Silverman. "The Shop.org community is excited to bring together executives from these different sectors to discuss what has been learned so far, what we can do now, and what we should continue to focus on in the future."

"Marketing and advertising go way beyond what shoppers see in local newspapers, on TV, or even what's in their favorite stores," said RAMA executive director Mike Gatti. "Branding involves the use of social media and digital marketing and the RAMA community is thrilled to be able to bring their expertise and talents to the table for this one-of-a-kind event."

The Retail Advertising & Marketing Association, a division of the National Retail Federation, is a trade association of over 1500 retail marketing and advertising executives, plus their supporting partners from the advertising agency, media and service-provider areas. RAMA sponsors the annual Retail Advertising Conference, the largest single gathering of retail marketing and advertising professionals in the industry today.
