Online carrying torch for retail growth, claims Adobe research

Consumers spent $126 billion online during this past holiday season, an increase of 16.5 percent compared to 2017, according to Adobe Analytics.

Smartphone activity drove half of the traffic for the first time ever, and accounted for 31 percent of revenue and 34 percent growth compared to the prior year, according to a press release.

The biggest spike, noted the release, came within the "buy online, pick up in the store" activity which experienced 50 percent growth.
