Oracle confers 2011 Retail Excellence Awards

Oracle announced its 2011 Retail Excellence Award winners recently at its annual Oracle Retail CrossTalk conference. The awards recognize outstanding achievements by Oracle customers in business performance, customer experience, innovation and leadership. Winners were selected by attendees from a list of finalists chosen by the Oracle Retail community.

• Netshoes was named Innovator of the Year for creating an enhanced web presence designed to enable online business growth, attract new customers and accommodate the evolving needs of its customer base.
• Advance Auto Parts was recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Business Performance for transforming business operations across all channels to achieve better pricing decisions and greater revenue.
• Chico's FAS received the award for Outstanding Achievement in Customer Experience for reinforcing its online store to drive customer loyalty and reduce site abandonment rates by engaging visitors and connecting them with customer service associates.

Additional awards were given for individual achievement: Stephen Carvelli, director of eCommerce at Chico's FAS, was named Retail Executive of the Year; Shankar Sitapati, director, Applications at National Pen LLC, was awarded CIO of the Year.
