Pet Planet, a 41-store chain based in Canada, is rolling out a pet nutrition and health consultation program using kiosks, according to petproductnews.com.
The machines prompt customers to answer questions about their pets, then provide recommendations on food, supplements, treats and toys. The program links to a new Pet Planet Nutrition & Health Education Center allowing customers to read articles about the recommendations. They also send the results of the consultation to the pet owner's email and store the customer's files, so they can review recommendations on future visits.
All but three of Pet Planet stores are in Canada, but it recently opened its first three U.S. locations in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Ariz.
