Play N Trade franchisee uses social media for store launch

April 25, 2010

Play N Trade Franchise Inc., the fastest growing video game franchise worldwide, announced in a press release a new store opening in Chicago’s Six Corners shopping district.

Ernesto Ayala celebrated his store’s grand opening in March and utilized social networking sites to boost store visits.

“UFragTV actually plugged us on the internet by broadcasting live from our store during our grand opening,” said Ayala. “Along with a lot of feedback on Facebook and Twitter we actually met another gamer group that was watching at home looking for a tournament that ended up coming down to compete at our store.”

An avid gamer since the 1980s, Ayala had worked in retail management for seven years and even ran a store for a competing retail gaming chain.

“I stopped in a Play N Trade in 2004 and their unique approach to customer service always stuck in the back my head,” said Ayala. “Having the flexibility to accommodate our customers is what really sets us apart from our competitors.”

As well as offering new and used games and consoles, retro games and a unique “Try-Before-You-Buy” policy, the Six Corners Play N Trade also offer a Players Club to host birthday parties, in-store tournaments and other unique events to emphasize community involvement within the store.
