Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix Super Markets Inc. is discontinuing its pilot program featuring curbside grocery service later this month, according to ddionline.com
The program launched in September 2010, and allowed shoppers at two metro-Atlanta grocery stores and one store in Tampa, Fla., to order groceries online and pick them up without leaving their vehicles.
A spokesperson for Publix said they company was canceling the service because the number of consistent customers using the service was considerably less than required to meet predetermined expectations.
