Report: More German, Austrian retailers offering BOPIS option

The number of German and Austrian retailers offering shoppers buy online, pick up in store is on the rise.

An OrderDynamic report reveals 43% of retailers in the two countries have BOPIS in play and the region is third behind France (50.5%) and the U.K. retail segment (64%), according to a press release.

The study polled 200 retail chains with a minimum of 10 store locations. Additional highlights include:

  • 11.6% of omnichannel retailers commit to having orders within 24 hours.
  • 84% of all retailers provide free return deliveries.
  • 10.5% of omnichannel retailers have an optimized m-commerce site.
  • 9.3% of omnichannel retailers accept Instagram purchases.

"German and Austrian retailers are making early headway in offering shoppers omnichannel options such as BOPIS and BORIS [buy online, return in store]," said Nick McLean, president, OrderDynamics, in the release. "It will be interesting to watch as the market continues to evolve and grow."
