In the spirit of the holidays Ibotta has released a "naughty or nice" list listing showing U.S. states that have the most, or the least holiday spirit.
Maine takes the 'naughtiest' award based on seasonal purchase of cookies, milk and carrots (the latter for the reindeer) while Utah is the 'nicest' when it comes to holiday food purchases.
When it comes to the top cookies bought for Santa, Oreo ranks first with Chips Ahoy and Keebler coming in second and third respectively, according to a press release.
The list ranks how all 50 states stack up when it comes to holiday food and drink purchases and analyzed 5.1 million item-level receipts transacted in the week before Christmas over the past three years.
Rhode Island takes the cake, followed by Connecticut and Massachusetts, for purchasing the most cookie baking supplies (flour, sugar, eggs and chocolate chips).
South Dakota earned a spot on the nice list by purchasing more candy canes than any other state, while Alaska residents get in the holiday spirit with the most eggnog bought. Ohio ranked as the most extravagant state during the holidays, spending the most money at the grocery store in the week before Christmas, while Oregon and Washington spend the least.
