This past holiday season, Oakley, maker of eyewear for world-class athletes released special edition 3D glasses to commemorate Paramount Pictures' "The Adventures of Tintin" a 3D film extravaganza directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by Peter Jackson. The Oakley 3D Gascan Tintin Limited Edition uses the company's patented optical innovations to offer the ultimate 3D entertainment experience. The Foothill Ranch, Calif.-based brand, owned by Luxottica SpA, currently holds more than 600 patents for eyewear, performance gear, and materials for its high-performance sunglasses, sports visors, ski goggles, watches, backpacks, shoes and other accessories.
