In a quest to lure consumers off Amazon and into their brick and mortar storefront, some retailers are launching new marketing strategies and hoping to capitalize on the shopper's love of selfies.

Wal-Mart is putting selfie booths in stores so shoppers can grab a shot of themselves with Santa and is placing holiday help staff at strategic areas, such as checkout lanes, to help consumers who may realize they’ve forgotten an item. Target, according to Quartz, is debuting toy demos to promote special products.
