Retail "big data" software firm RetailNext Inc. has announced the general availability of RetailNext 5.1. According to the company, new features in this version include multiple video stream export, Micros XBR integration, Japanese-language support, security improvements and more.

RetailNext measures the behavior of more than one billion shoppers per year by collecting data from more than 65,000 sensors in retail stores and analyzing trillions of data points annually. More than 160 retailers and brands worldwide have adopted RetailNext solutions to glean the insights necessary to improve customer experience, increase same-store sales, reduce theft and eliminate unnecessary costs.

"This latest iteration of the platform builds upon our foundational pillars of real-time data integration with the widest possible array of data sources, scalability, and retail focus, and delivers our customers a one-stop solution to better understand shoppers, enhance the delivery of their shopper experience, and increase their key store performance metrics," said Arun Nair, Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of RetailNext.

"With RetailNext 5.1, customers can more easily review interactions across several cameras at a higher video resolution," said Devana Bhargava, RetailNext product manager, "and the integration of Micros XBR makes it easier for retailers to match transaction exception reporting with video, making functions like Loss Prevention more efficient and effective."
