rue21 names interim CEO, executive leaders

Specialty apparel retailer rue21 has named Keith McDonough as interim CEO. McDonough had been serving as the company's CFO for 13 years.

It also named Nine Barjesteh as its new chief merchandising officer and Elizabeth Hodges as chief customer officer, a new role, according to an announcement. As chief customer officer Hodges will direct brand marketing and advertising.

rue21 operates 1,213 stores in 48 states, and the company plans to open approximately 40 new stores and upgrade 100 existing stores this year.
