Shein, an online fast fashion retailer, has opened its first-ever physical store in Paris.
The store has been met with opposition from workers and politicians believing that it will hurt the city's progressive image, according to a report at The Guardian.
The store is located on the sixth floor of Paris's BHV department store.
Several French fashion brands have pulled products in protest from the BHV store.
"We are totally against this. It is the complete opposite of Paris's policy to develop independent shops and support products that are made in France," Nicolas Bonnet-Oulaldj, Paris's Communist deputy mayor in charge of commerce, told The Guardian.
