Shop X to feature ‘Gachapon’ toy capsule machines

Shop X, a "micro village" featuring retail brands as part of the Post Houston downtown shopping complex in Houston, features Gachapon vending machines found in Tokyo's Akihabara district, according to a houston.culturemap.com report.

Gachapon machines in Japan offer capsules containing toys. The Gahapon machines at Shop X will offer toys reflecting Houston's heritage. Shoppers will use tokens to buy from the machines.

Shop X will also feature 15 retailers with merchandise tailored to the Houston area. The grand opening will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, coinciding with Post Houston's Lunar New Year celebration.
