Plus-size travelers flying on Southwest Airlines will need to buy an additional ticket in advance if their size "encroaches" upon the next seat.
The previous policy stated passengers could pay for the seat ahead of time and have the cost refunded if the extra seat wasn't required or ask for an extra seat at no charge at the airport.
The policy change, according to a New York Times report, comes after several other big changes at the airline, including the end of open seating and a newly-instituted charge for checked bags.
