SpartanNash names new CEO

Dave Staples, currently president and COO of grocer SpartanNash, will take the helm as CEO by the end of May.

Staples is moving into the role following the retirement of Dennis Eidson, according to a MLive.com report.

"Under Dennis' guidance, the company has achieved remarkable success in executing its business strategies and leveraging the food distribution, retail, and military segments to achieve sustainable growth," Tim O'Donovan, lead director, said in a statement.
