Starbucks' iOS app gets Apple Pay support

Users now can reload their prepaid card with the touch of a finger.

Starbucks this past week updated its iOS app to support Apple Pay as a reload option for its closed-loop prepaid card. 

When Apple Pay was first revealed in September, Starbucks was included in Apple's presentation as an initial partner but only for in-app payments. With Starbucks' own ambitious mobile plans, don't expect Apple Pay to be an in-store option any time soon, if ever. 

Starbucks also made some improvements to the order-ahead feature it is testing in the Portland, Ore. area. The company plans to roll out that feature nationwide later this year.
