The Swarovski Crystal Worlds museum, a popular Austria tourist destination, is bringing an innovative visitor experience with a first-ever indoor snowfall.

The company worked with TechnoAlpin, an indoor and outdoor snow making company, to create the 365-days-a-year snowfall for visitors, according to a press release.

Called "Silent Night," the project took two years to complete. The museum is known for installations by global artists, designers and architects who interpret the beauty of crystals in their own vision.

The installation, which can be experienced in the museum's Chamber of Wonder, represents the first dynamic snowfall ever created behind closed doors.

TechnoAlpin has provided landscape snow for indoor snow rooms for cold weather gear retailers, including Canada Goose and Woolrich in North America, as well as European spa and wellness destinations, but this is the first time it has created a natural snowfall indoors, according to the release.

"This installation is our first simulation of natural snowfall, a feat that took our engineers over two years to achieve," Erich Gummerer, TechnoAlpin CEO, said in the release. "We have been creating indoor snow worlds for over a decade — most typically as a gentle cooling experience during wellness journeys and for retailers seeking an experiential shopping experience for consumers."

"Silent Light" is nearly 700 square feet.
