April 2, 2015

Tablet-based point-of-sale provider talech this week launched talech Premium, which the company said in a press release is intended to bring advanced features and high-touch support for restaurants, complex retail, franchises and chains. Premium will be offered in partnership with Boomtown, a company that provides on-demand IT support for local businesses.

"Traditional POS systems are expensive, hard to maintain, and often come with uneven tech support," Irv Henderson, CEO and co-founder of talech, said in a statement. "With talech Premium, we're addressing each of these issues by combining talech's feature-rich, intuitive POS software with the white glove service of Boomtown at a price that SMBs can afford."

By joining forces with Boomtown, talech said it is able to combine its market-leading tablet solution with on-demand support. Boomtown provides the full spectrum of support, from software and hardware installation and network setup, to ongoing monitoring, and 24/7 remote troubleshooting as well as onsite support.

"At Boomtown, we're using technology to rethink the IT support experience. Through proactive monitoring, remote support and on-demand dispatch, we’re delivering a fast and reliable support experience," said Chip Kahn, CEO and founder of Boomtown. "With talech, we've created a seamless software and support experience for our customers."
