Target hiring 100K workers for holiday sales season

Target is planning to hire approximately 100,000 seasonal workers for roles in its stores and supply chain facilities.
Current employees will be offered opportunities to work extra hours during the holiday season, according to a Target news release.
"Our Target team is key to providing you an easy and joyful holiday shopping experience, and this holiday season we're prepped to deliver with the best team in retail," stated the release.
The hiring plan is in line with past seasonal hiring efforts, according to a Reuters report, despite predictions retail sales are projected to grow at the slowest pace since 2018.
Target also plans to debut more affordable holiday items, according to the news release, and will launch its deals week program called Target Circle as of October 6.
The Target hiring news comes on the heels of Bath & Body Works announcing it plans to hire 30,000 season workers, according to Reuters.
