Target Corp. is testing a self-service, grab-and-go concept that allows customers to pay for their items at a self-service kiosk at several of its locations, according to the St. Paul/Minneapolis Business Journal.
Called Snack Bar, the one at its Northeast Minneapolis store has an Icee machine, items from Pizza Hut, popcorn, salads, beef jerky and other items.
In 2015, the company said several stores in the Twin Cities and Chicago would exchange its longstanding cafes — which sold many of the same items — with fast casual concepts from Freshii and D'Amico & Sons. Freshii closed all its Target sites in 2017.
