The Container Store revamps with new tech, digital screens

The Container Store, based in Texas, is redoing its stores, with the first redesign taking place at its Dallas location.

The store refresh boasts new technology, digital design screens and even a lounge area, according to a CNBC report. The first location will serve as a prototype before moving forward to re-design its more than 90 locations in the U.S.

"One of the things we want to do is make our stores more approachable," Container Store CMO Melissa Collins told CNBC. "We find customers feel overwhelmed and intimidated. They're not very organized — so they're thinking, 'How do I get started?'"

The revamped store will feature a more spacious layout, more inventory and provide design specialists available for personal one-on-one consultations with consumers.
