The Incredible Hulk christens first Brownells retail location

July 1, 2016

Brownells, which sells "all-things firearms," has opened its first retail location in Grinnell, Iowa. Local names in attendance for the grand opening included Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds and Grinnell Mayor Gordon Canfield. Also on hand was brand ambassador Lou Ferrigno, or The Incredible Hulk.

In total, 4,000 attendees were present for the event, and guests had a chance to converse with representatives from vendor companies such as Trijicon, Apex, Benelli, Streamlight, Surefire, H&K, and Beretta, according to a release.

The brick-and-mortar location is a 7,000-square-foot location attached to a 245,000-square-foot distribution center.

"Our company has been family-owned and Iowa-based for 77 years… [But] What's most unique about this store is that it's located in the same walls as our distribution center. This equates to a fantastic customer experience and the best of both worlds; a beautiful retail store to transact and access to a huge selection of products unrivaled anywhere in the world," stated Pete Brownell, owner and CEO.
