Montana convenience stores roll out new POS

Town Pump selects new point of sale system to support EMV compliance and enhance customer experience.

April 23, 2015

Town Pump recently finalized the rollout of the Gilbarco Veeder-Root Passport POS system at each of its 97 locations across Montana. The convenience-store chain, headquartered in Butte, Mont., selected Passport to enhance customer service and prepare for its upcoming EMV liability shift deadlines.

"We have a longstanding partnership with Gilbarco on the forecourt," Town Pump CIO, Eric Reibsane, said in a release. "Adding Passport to our technology portfolio has dramatically improved functionality, administration, and reliability in the POS arena. Gilbarco was an exceptional implementation partner and their experience was instrumental in the success of Passport deployment."

Town Pump leadership had been searching for a POS system that would support evolving credit networks, loyalty programs, enable remote management and provide a foundation for pending changes due to the EMV liability shift.

"It's been a pleasure working with the Town Pump team and our local distributor to make sure that their rollout and integration with other systems went smoothly," Travis Bouck, vice president marketing North America at Gilbarco, said in a release. "We're looking forward to supporting their growth with our Passport development roadmap."
