Travel retailer taps Oracle cloud tech to boost customer experience

August 13, 2020

The Marshall Retail Group, a leading travel retailer in airports, casinos and resorts, is deploying Oracle Retail Xstore Office Cloud Service with the help of BTM Global.

The technology effort, which took less than 100 days, provides MRG with an enhanced point-of-service capabilities for delivering unique customer experiences at its 200 standalone stores, based on local culture, community and lifestyle of the retail store.

The Xstore Office Cloud Service acts as the central repository for all store transactions allowing for cross-store returns and providing upstream systems necessary sales and transactional information, according to a press release.

"Whether at an airport, casino or resort, we are thrilled to welcome our customers into a fresh shopping environment that offers more personalization and efficiency than ever before," Michael C. Wilkins, Marshall Retail Group CEO, said in the release. "BTM Global brings expertise to implementing Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service in the cloud. This experience led us to a successful implementation in record time to deliver the best customer experience as the economy reopens."

"Agility is a board-level conversation in the recovery towards the New Next as retailers take advantage of new opportunities to serve customers in a rapidly changing environment. Working closely with Oracle, Marshall Retail Group and BTM Global were able to implement new technology to modernize their customer experience quickly," Mike Webster, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Retail, said in the release. "This continuous innovation in the cloud will provide MRG with the ability to respond effectively to new requirements while preserving a positive experience for its customers."
