Unemployment claims dipped in mid-April

May 1, 2019

The number of unemployed U.S. citizens took a bit of a dip in mid-April and hit nearly a 50-year low.

Unemployment benefit applications were 192,000, according to a Market Watch report, 5,000 less then the prior week in April.

The dip in claims is due to steady hiring activity, stated the report, and current figures reflect the strongest labor market in decades.
