The University of Minnesota recently unveiled its 338,00 square-foot "Athletes Village," which consists of three buildings for its athletics program. For the village, the university selected Advent to deploy an immersive LED video display from PixelFlex, according to a press release.
PixelFlex provided its 3.9-millimeter FlexLite NXG display, which features 500- by 500-millimeter video tiles to ensure better color and brightness. Adventure used a Unistrut framing system with FlexLite's die-cast aluminum frame to hang the display.
"To create the angled display, we used Unistrut which was locked onto a plywood backer on both the ceiling and on the wall," John Downie, vice president of experience, Advent, said in the press release. "On the ceiling portion, we used a top row of angled Unistrut brackets and two rows of turnbuckles to lower down the second half of the ceiling mounted panels. This allowed us to get a perfect joint between the two sections of the LED video wall, and it looks great."
The university populates the display with the names of honored players. Advent supplied the university with a content management system for the displays, according to the release.
