University of Missouri – Kansas City deploys smart kiosks

The University of Missouri — Kansas City has installed smart kiosks on its campus, making it the first U.S. campus to have the same kind of kiosks that can be found at transit stops and in urban areas, according to University News. The Smart City Media LLC kiosks provide information about educational services, campus attractions, sporting events and off-campus events.

The kiosks, which are located on UMKC's Volker and Hospital Hill campuses, and can translate information into nine different languages and provide a selfie app.

CityPost kiosks, a product of Smart City Media LLC, have been present throughout Kansas City since 2016. They can be found at or near streetcar stops along a two-mile route from the River Market  to Union Station.
