US economy added 223K jobs at year’s end

The U.S. economy created 223,000 jobs in Dec. 2022, marking the second best year for the labor market since 1939.

Unemployment fell to a 3.5% rate from 3.6% in Nov. 2022, according to a CNN report.

The job growth bested economists' expectations by about 23,000 jobs.
