Vending machines offer edible insects

Residents of Sapporo, Japan can buy edible insects from vending machines specializing in items difficult to find in supermarkets, according to a report in the Mainichi.

Hacienda International operates eight machines in its store offering items such as cheese from eastern Hokkaido and Michelin guide featured ramen.

Prices range from 400 yen ($3.50) to 2,800 yen ($25).
