Walmart wants to make product delivery more efficient and cheaper and is piloting a new approach that involves both goals.
The mega retailer is considering cutting off $1 off its $49 annual shipping fee and aiming to cut its three-day delivery window to two days, according to a Reuters report.
Walmart initiated the pilot last year, according to the report, as a way to better compete with other retailers, including Amazon and it’s $99 annual shipping program. To spur faster delivery, it is reportedly boosting regional carriers, according to Reuters.
