Walmart debuts store boasting AI lab

Walmart has launched an Intelligent Retail Lab, which is a fully functional store boasting an in-store AI lab, where it plans to advance learning on building products, tools and services to transform its business.

The announcement was made by lab CEO, Mike Hanrahan in a National Retail Foundation podcast event during the recent NRF Big Show. He described the lab as an “artificial intelligence factory, "in which the retailer will do the "discovery, do the learning, productionizing things."
