Walmart is readying an in-home grocery delivery service that will debut this fall.
The retailer's InHome Delivery program will have a Walmart associate using smart entry technology, and a proprietary, wearable camera, to access a customer’s home to deliver orders, according to a blog post from Marc Lore, president and CEO, Walmart eCommerce U.S.
Customers will be able to control access to their homes and watch the actual delivery.
InHome will launch to more than a million customers in three cities: Kansas City, Missouri, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Vero Beach, Florida.
Later this year, customers will be able to return items purchased on Walmart.com through the InHome service.
