It seems robots don't beat humans when it comes to checking inventory on shelves.

The retailer is cancelling its contract with Bossa Nova Robotics whose 500 robots were checking shelf inventory at Walmart locations, according to a CNBC report citing a Wall Street Journal story.

Apparently humans can do the inventory work just as well and Walmart has determined simple cost-efficient approaches to managing stock inventory. It was also concerned about robots' interaction with customers, stated the report.
