Walmart reigns as top grocery retailer

Walmart is tops when it comes to the top five retailers by dollar share, with Kroger still in second place despite consistent declines since 2021.

Completing the top five list are Costco, Albertsons and Sam's Club, respectively, according to the latest data from Numerator's grocery market share research.

Walmart held 25.2% market share as of the end of June, with Kroger claiming 10.7%, according to a press release. Costo held 9.9%, Albertsons held 7.2% and Sam's Club held 5.1%.
