Walmart has created a new role, chief customer officer, and hired on a former American Express executive.
Janey Whiteside will oversee Walmart stores and ecommerce in the newly minted job which is focused on boosting shopping traffic and customer service, according to a Reuters report.
Prior to coming to Walmart Whiteside served spent 20 years at AMEX involved in customer engagement, relationship management and marketing.
Walmart also announced, in a company memo according to Reuters, that Barbara Messing will be the company's new chief marketing officer, replacing Tony Rogers. Rogers has a new role within the company focused on the Sam’s Club business.
